The deep tawny brown liquid is topped with a two finger head of fine espresso colored bubbles. They slowly settle, leaving minimal lacing as the beer is consumed. The smell is of lightly roasted malt with hints of toasted oatmeal. The first drink is a pleasure, packed with plenty of oatmeal smoothness and malt sweetness. The finish however is distinctly hops which overwhelms the oatmeal and malt. For the rest of the beer all I can taste are those hops, they have completely overwhelmed those wonderful initial oatmeal and malt flavors. It has a medium body that drifts a bit towards the thin side, with a light mouthfeel. Modify the hop bill to let the oatmeal and malt shine a bit brighter.
