A lovely burnt copper with a bone colored head consisting of medium sized bubbles that left almost no lacing. The smell is clean and with subtle malted notes. The taste is sweet initially and finishes with a nice distinct hop edge, and there are some light smoked malt notes lingering around the margins as well. Medium bodied with a modest amount of carbonation, this had a nice mouthfeel. Definitely drinkable, but perhaps a touch undermalted, it was the preferred beer at our table.
