This is a new seasonal offering from Capitol City Brewing in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, MD. It is served in a tumbler and is cold.
Appearance: The ale has a nice goldenrod color, clear and crisp with no sign of sediment. There is little head.
Smell: The earthiness of the hallertau hops really shine through in the nose. The hops give the beer a kick without the sweet aromas of US hops. There is a nice malt base that gives a biscuity aroma under the hops.
Taste: The ale starts with a dirty kick from the hallertau. By dirty, I mean organic. The hops impart a mellow, low-key taste that some US hops could use. From there, the munich and pils malts provide a pleasant bready flavor that cries out for another sip.
Mouthfeel: The ale leaves a dry finish in the mouth, almost forcing one to go back for another sip. Very pleasant and perfect for a nice lunch overlooking the Harbor.
Drinkability: Very high on the drinkability scale, this ale is pleasant without knocking one out with a high abv.
