Devoid of a head, the rim bubbles do leave some brief streaks on the glass. Clear and straw colored.
Like all of the Capitol beers, the smell is light to nonexistent. I can tease out some lavender, ash, and toasted raw unmalted barley.
Round and earthy comes to mind on the initial taste. Full mouthfeel with a subdued effervescence. Good hopping to the strong caramel flavoring. The aftertaste is mostly bitter but the heavy darker toast tastes also come through. I typically like alts but this one is too grainy for me.
