Had on tap at Baltimore's Inner Harbor location.
Appearance: clear dark copper almost brown in color. One finger head last quite a while. Some mild spotty lacing develops.
Smell: hints of chocolate and caramel are very mild and tough to pull out of the glass.
Taste: mild malt profile, chocolate, caramel, raisins, ripe red fruits, a dash of pepper, and a bit of bitterness make up a pretty bland ale.
Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Lightly crisp at the start, smooth at the finish. Brief aftertaste.
Drinkability: this beer was dull and uninteresting to me personally. Pretty easy to quaff, I just expected a bit more malt profile here in a winter ale.

Currently on draft at the Baltimore location. Called a winter ale, but isn't a spice bomb. Comes off as a hefty, hearty brown ale juiced with hops. Pours a slightly cloudy nut brown with a thin wisp of a head. No real lacing or retention to speak of. Heavy malt aromas that were nutty and full o' brown sugar.
Great heavy brown ale flavor (nuts, brown sugar, roasted malts) with a sharp hop finish. Goes down smooth, with just the right amount of carbonation. Leaves a wisp of warmth on the tongue. They don't list the ABV of their brew, so I'm unsure what this one clocked in at. Nice session brew to watch the Sunday football games.
