A one-off, dry-hopped, unfiltered ESB brewed for the '08 election season, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this as the supply started to wane.
In the glass it appeared to be a chunk o' gold. Hazy, with a white head, though not much of one. Settled to a persistent film and ring on the sides.
The dry-hopping is expressed in the nose as moderate grapefruit that comes in on top of an aroma white-bread dough with a hint of butter.
Slight citrus and bittering, but a hearty malt, grain base. A biscuity taste that stuck to my palate a bit.
Flavorful and with a good carbonation bite, this beer had a spritz-y taste and feel. Light bodied and easy drinking, its definitely an above average for a bitter.
