Had on-tap at the Capitol City Brewing Company's K Street Location in Washington DC on 11/28/09.
A: Very dark black which almost glows purple when held up to light; capped off by a small, white head.
S: The unmistakable smell of prunes with some weak sweet roasted malts in the background.
T: Prunes, other dark fruits, and licorice upfront, with some roasted malts in the body and a strange vinous hop strain in the end; almost medicinal in the aftertaste.
M: Somewhat thin with active carbonation, like Unibroue's Chambly Noir.
D: Not too bad as far as drinkability; the strange hop aftertaste is not too satisfying though.
