Hideout's website now is listing this one as a porter Served on tap. Poured as a dark mahogany liquid with a thin ring of foam atop. Nice aromas of peanut butter powder, with some slight cocoa/coffee notes. Flavor is more towards the cocoa side and the peanut notes dissappear under roasted malt. Very, very thin feel.

1 PINT 6 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours black with an inch of mocha head that leaves no lacing.
I notice the peanut butter right away. It gives it a nutty, earthy aroma. The chocolate is in the background with roasted malt.
The peanut butter combines with roasted malt flavor. The finish is dry. I don' get much in the way of chocolate flavor.
Kind of a thin mouthfeel for a stout.
It is a decent beer. I was happy with the peanut butter aspect, but disappointed in the chocolate part of it. It was more of a peanut butter and roasted malt stout.

Short Review I've had this beer on tap before and I liked it, so I thought I would try the bottled version and I ended up being disappointing since it seemed to have had some of the same problems that the Chocolate Banana Dunkelweizen bottle I had from them had. It was overcarbonated, a little sour on the finish, and whole the peanut butter flavors were nice, the chocolate barely showed up and still tasted a little bland and watery. I'm not so sure about these HIdeout bottles, they seem to be more miss than hit. No recommend in the bottle, but I recommend it on tap.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, light plum, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of peanut butter, roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and lightly fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, light plum, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, herbal, and yeast/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of peanut butter, roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and lightly fruity yeast flavors; with a nice roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice English peanut butter flavored stout. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of peanut butter, roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and lightly fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
