22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours hazy deep ruby red/copper color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/pine hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and resinous/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good malty double IPA style. All around good robustness, balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. This seems to be a homage to Dogfish 120 minute with less ABV, and the flavors are actually quite similar overall. A very enjoyable offering.
