Served on tap in a tall 10 oz pilsner glass?
It's very dark brown with a light tan head. This is the first schooners beer I had consumed, so I had no expectations. The oak jumps out of the glass immediately. If I had to guess I'd say it's been in a bourbon barrel for some time. HUGE vanilla aroma, and some chocolate malty sweetness. The aroma is absolutely fantastic. Tastes of malty sweetness, caramel and some prune/fig fruit undertones along with some toasty chocolate and that oaky vanilla. This thing is awesome. The only complaint I had about it is that it seemed a little underattenuated and felt a tad heavy and syrupy. Still, it's a sipper anyway, and the flavor and aroma carry this thing home easily. I'd love to curl up to one of these every night in the winter. I'm really glad I had the chance to try this beer.
