On tap at Toronado for Barleywine Fest 2010. Supposedly this is a "blended collaboration with Valley Brewing." I assume there was Valley Brewing Old Inventory in this, which is a decent but not great barleywine in my opinion.
Pours a very dark but clear reddish-brown color with excellent lacing.
Aroma is pretty mild for the style, with caramel and some slight fruity notes.
Flavor is a little better but still not very much to it. Sweet caramel malt, dark fruits, and mild hops.
Medium-light body for the style with average carbonation.
Decent drinkability for the style. Overall however, this really didn't do it for me. I've heard great things about Schooner's, but have yet to try an impressive beer from them.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
