Bought a growler today from the brewery...and surprised this has not been listed yet. The ever popular Citra is showing itself locally and I am loving it. I tried to make this growler last but alas....twas not to be.
A pop sound was heard as I twisted the cap so that is a great sign. Pours an amber/apricot colored ale with a big bright white foamy head that slowly dissolves to a film. The aroma is amazing. Sweet apricot, pineapple and blood orange permeates in the nostrils. Light pine and floral in the background. Just an awesome smell that I could whiff all day. The taste is great. Incredibly smooth up front with no harshness but a lot on the swallow and the aftertaste. Citrus throughout the entire sip. Nice salavation on the buds. Overall I have been wanting to try this brew for a long time and finally had the opportunity to do so. I was blown away by the freshness and easy drinkability of this smooth beer. The Schooner's brewmaster hit it out of the park on this one. The great thing is that I grabbed the growler plus beer for $16 and change and refills are $12 and change. I will be visiting often in hopes of finding this but I have also heard there is a double on the way. Be still my heart. Awesome stuff.
