This is a very solid seasonal IPA. Citrusy but not overly so. Nicely balanced. Overall a very nice IPA.

Covington Spring Ale has a medium, creamy, cream-colored head, a murky, orange-gold appearance, and splotchy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of strong, cream cheese, cream ale yeast, ever-so-slight citrus, sweet bread, and mild hop resin. Taste is of those elements, alongside low-profile cream ale yeast bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Covington Spring Ale finishes semi-wet and highly drinkable. Overall, even with the cream ale aspects, it is NOT a cream ale, nor does it necessarily taste or smell like one.

Pour: Golden honey body, minimal tan head on pour which dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing.
Smell: Piney, citrusy goodness. Smells like a typical American pale ale.
Taste: Slightly bitter on the front of the tongue, unfortunate bit of a ferruginous metallic off-taste following in the middle over top of pleasant woody flavor. Not enough to overrule the good flavors, but still noticeable. Finishes with a slightly lingering bittersweet piney flavor, overtaking the off notes and leaving a happy tongue.
Mouthfeel: Light, rolls through the mouth pleasantly.
Overall: If it weren't for the slight iron tinge in the middle, I'd love this beer. As it stands now, still a good offering with pleasant hoppy flavors and something I would drink again throughout the spring.
