12oz bottle courtesy of injuredreserve into a Duvel tulip.

A: Hazy reddish-amber body with a finger of frothy off-white head that fairly quickly subsides into a ring and leaves minimal lacing. A little disappointing, but not terrible.

S: Clean, straightforward lager aroma: toasty, bready malt and some light, herbal hops. Nice balance of sweetness and crispness.

T: Follows the nose precisely: simple, crisp, and flavorful. Sweet malts lead into a finish tinged with bitterness and minerality. Nothing crazy, but I think it's just what this beer is going for. Very refreshing, and yet not boring.

M: Light to medium body with fairly high, rough carbonation. Lively enough, but a bit unrefined.

D: Yup. I could see myself drinking multiple liter mugs of this at a bayou Oktoberfest.

Notes: I'm often not much of a lager guy, but this one really hits the spot. I could easily see mistaking this for an authentic Vienna lager; so smooth.

Cheers!

malty, coffee, and toffee flavor with decent body. not very complex, but certainly flavorful.

i prefer it to abita amber, but it is also a much denser beer. don't think i could drink a whole 6 pack of these. a little more head would be nice. a worthy local brew in a poor local new orleans brewery scene.

12 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass.

Pours a deep cloudy golden brown with basically no head at all. Very malty and toasty on the nose.

Taste is quite and rich and sweet. Very sharp and smooth but it's still quite decent. Pretty rich, flavorful and easy drinking. I think it's worth trying.
