From notes I discovered a month later, having thought I had lost them as I left my last Wetherspoons of their autumn real ale festival.
A: copper colour; minimal head.
S: berries and hint of pine.
T: raspberry tang/hint of apricot to startbut bitterness asserts itself the more i drink. it is rather herbal but the rye (presumably) makes it feel very filling/worthy (almost healthy).

Pint at the JDW real ale festival.
Dark amber, slight haze, 1 finger head, decent retention.
S: Rye, hops, hint of smoked meat.
T: Rye bread, spelt, slight molasses, sour dough in the finish.
M: Medium carbonation, thick body for the strength, smooth.
O: Gives a whole new meaning to liquid bread, great character for the low strength.
