Tasted this beer by half-pint at my local Wetherspoon's pub in East End London.
A: the colour is chest-nut brown, coming with a thin and loose layer of very very big bubbles... looking like longan-fruit juice or sour-prune juice even.
S: rasiny+ripe black plums, clove+perfumy-sweet (a bit like the smell of Turkish dessert Baclava), sharply flowery+very mild fruity hop aroma, different from the influence of purely English hops... interesting nose overall.
T: juicy flow of caramel-malts backed by very mild dark-fruity flavour, leading to stimulating mouthfeel of roasted-nuts (on skin) and roasted grainy taste--leading to a lingering, nutty bitterness with a slightly "herbal-sweetness" (like licorice-root) left on the sides of the tongue.
M&D: well-structured body and a soft but also lively mouthfeel; the flavour is overall moderate but the maltiness brings lots of complex joys. Good beer to bump into!
