Pours a nice dark brown. Almost opaque, but not cloudy. Like all the other Oliver's beers, it has little visible carbonation (no bubbles to really speak of). Very thin head as a light white ring around the top. No lacing, but the ring stays with you throughout the drink.
Very malty and sweet on the nose.
The first flavor I experienced was coffee and carmelized sugar. A very smooth and creamy drink. According to the description, there are two different hops, but there is no hops to really experience.
Medium bodied brew and slightly chewy.
Very drinkable and not overly complex. Like all well done brown ales, not bad to have several.
