On tap at Max's today.
The beer pours a cola brown color with fairly decent head retention and lacing. The nose suggests a fairly sweet malty base, though I pick up some light burnt toast as well. The flavor profile is a bit better, showcasing sweet malt, dry sherry and vanilla, with just a hint of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a fairly long, slightly dry and bitter finish. Drinkability is pretty good, though there's some astringency at the end that detracts just a bit.
While nothing spectacular, this was still a fairly solid beer. Pretty much my impression of most Oliver beers.
