"Again 7% We soured the mash (the base malt for which was Franco-Belge Pale Ale) with acidulated malt, bittered with German Northern Brewer and Czech Saaz, fermented with Union Brewery Co’s Alt yeast and added 88lb of tart red cherries to fermentation resulting in a pleasing dryness and slightly tart finish."
Wasn't sure what to list this as but they soured the mash and I believe were going for a sour beer, so listing it as a Wild. From 09/22/12 notes, served in a tulip.
a - Pours a hazy golden color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of fruity malts, dark fruits, a little sweet with no sourness, some bready malts, and light hops. Nice, but not sour at all in the nose.
t - Tastes of dark fruits, lightly sour cherries, fruity malts, grains, bready malts, citrus hops. The tiniest bit of sourness here, but not too much.
m - Medium body and low to moderate carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall while I didn't really find this beer sour at all, it was still an enjoyable beer. Some nice fruit in the nose and taste, and some cherries in the taste. Very easy to drink, would have it again.
