Copenhagen 8/12 2022. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. As “Fur Barley Wine, 2021, Lagret på fransk eg”. Fur’s usual design in Autumn colors.
Pours unclear - almost opaque - amber with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin flimsy and patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sugary sweet odor with a boozy touch of alcohol. Sugar, plums, raisins, sherry and hints of oak.
Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, a bit greasy, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong potent sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a bit searing. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet liqueur.
Sweet boozer with a nice woody touch.
