Directly at the brewpub.
Pours a black body. Flavor is like liquid toffee and molasses with the molasses winning out. Thick and sticky in the palate. It actually felt like drinking a malt beverage as the molasses was too much for me. Sadly one to forget.

Had a half-pint of this with lunch at Beer Bistro in Toronto. Pours an amber-brown colour with thin white head. The head dissipates fairly quickly, not too much lacing. Smells of slight smoke and peak with a lot of sweet butterscotch and caramel. A little bit of toasted nuts in there too. Sweet flavour, almost no bitterness at all. Thin mouthfeel for the style. Not my favourite scotch ale, but this was still tasty.

Guessing this is the right beer, the board listed this version as 9%.
Aroma: Toasted malt with some peat notes, all fairly mild.
Appearance: Blood red, thin collar
Flavor: Heavy malt almost like extract. Some peat but not much. It seems under-attenuated, wort like.
Mouthfeel: Heavy body, little carbonation.
Overall Impression: Ugh! The only misfire I had. Like I say, I might have the wrong beer, so Im not saying dont try it, but get a sample first!

Sampled a bottle aged ~1 year (oct2004) at the 7th anniversary party.
Appearance: Reddish amber, with a clingy, mother of pearl head.
Smell: Quite interesting balance of sweetness and booze at first, as my glass warmed it had an olive oil fragrance, and then morphed again to a oily, sticky hoppiness.
Taste: Caramel, malty sweet body, a tad peaty with a warming finish, like mixing a little turbinado sugar with rhum.
I only get sporadic cravings for this type of Beer, and even though I wasn't necessarily in the mood for it, this aged Cornemuse was worth trying out.

Nice color to this one, a dark ruby. Little to no head that left no lacing. Clean aroma. Taste was all sweet malt with alcohol coming at ya in the finish. Not bad, but probably no big rush to come back to this one anytime soon. Wasn't overly wowed by this one.
