A nice raspberry-infused wit. I didnt really see this as a Berliner Weisse, but perhaps it could be. With the raspberry syrup already added in I suppose, no room for the woodruff, eh. anyways, Light reddish/violet liquid with a nice head of pinkish off-white foam that lasts and leaves *excellent* lacing. Taste is all Belgian wit, but no real citrus flavors are present. Instead it's all about the berry which does taste a tad bit artificial, the spiciness and yeastiness of the brew balance it out nicely however. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and acidic. Drinkability is nice, but not the best. I'd have this again, but the huge ass weizen glass that it is served in, is a bit much!

Had a sample at the Mondial 2005, and went to the pub to explore further...
Appearance: Ruby red, with a pink head! My girlfriend loved it!
Smell: Raspberry, but with a concealed yeasty funk, with a catty, lactic twang to it.
Taste: It's tart, but not as tart as last year's Solstice d'été. The Amourette is more acidic and the taste and mouthfeel is reminiscent of raspberry seeds. Refreshing, but half a pint was sufficient for me.

Sample at Mondiale 2005: Poured a light clear pink color beer with small bubbly head with almost no retention. Aroma of raspberry syrup is clearly identifiable with also some sourness. Sourness clearly dominates the taste and is well balance with the raspberry, which are not overly sweet. Reminiscent in some ways of some lambic fruit. Very interesting and very refreshing beer.
