Very dark brown -- approaching black -- with a slow-forming finger of creamy, mocha-colored head. On cask, it lasts a good while and leaves thick sheets of lacing.
The aroma gives a dry, Irish Stout impression: roasted malts, a hint of chocolate and some cream.
Dark roasted malt, wood, dark chocolate, smoke and hops, with creaminess from the lasting head, in the taste. Some chalky dark chocolate and black coffee in the backend gives way to a dry, roasty, bitter finish.
Very creamy mouthfeel, while still relatively thin for a stout these days.
For folks who like their stouts dry and bitter.
