On tap at Dieu du Ciel in Montreal, QC.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like fresh roasted malt, smoke, herbal hops, and coffee.
This is a dead-on take on a traditional no-frills porter, with a killer roasted malt character, just the slightest kiss of bitter hops, a fresh coffee-type flavor, and just the lightest hint of smoke. All the flavors meld very together, and combine to make exactly what you'd expect for a good porter.
This is medium bodied, and very crisp - while remaining a bit creamy. It's very drinkable.
Some of DDC's best beers are their simplest. This is a great example of that.

On tap directly at the brewpub.
Pours a very dark body with nice roasted aroma that carries over into the flavor a bit but found the body to be a bit weak for the style. Expected a bit better from DDC.

On-tap at DDC.
Beer is black. with a small to moderate tan head. Head fades fairly quickly, some lace.
Nose contains roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of vanilla.
Flavour includes roasted malt, some caramel and bitter chocolate. Coffee flavours as well. On the bitter side. Good.
Medium to full bodied, but overly carbonated for the style. A bit irritating. The only letdown.
Overall, good stuff.
