11.5oz bottle. Label has the date of '2023-01-20 12:59 LOT: 02'.
Black colored body, with a very thin red mahogany back lit edge. Two finger of tan head, which reduces to a mild surface storm.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, with coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, and a bit of vanilla. The peppers tickle the nostrils. No lacing.
Taste follows the nose with the roasted malts, strong dark coffee, dark chocolate, and the sweet touch of vanilla. The cinnamon and the peppers appear late and linger in the mouth.
Medium mouth feel. Slight creaminess but there is a definite dry finish. Higher ABV% and the peppers singe the tongue, creating numbness after each sip. Okay carbonation.
This is still a coffee driven stout, but the other additions all appear. The vanilla is appreciated for bringing in a slight sweetness that acts as a counterbalance to the bitter and dark coffee and chocolate.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like heavily bitter roast, smoke, charred peppers, and old coffee.

This is shockingly bad, considering what the regular Peche Mortel and many of the variants often taste like. I don't really know what happened here. Smoke and ashy bitterness are the overriding flavor, along with burnt pepper heat. The coffee flavor is nowhere near as tasty as the best bottles of Peche are. It's mainly just roast and old coffee bitterness. I don't really get any cinnamon (luckily) or any vanilla.

This is thin and bitter, and not all that drinkable. It's got none of the creaminess of the typical Peche Mortel.

Something went very wrong here. This is not good in nearly any way.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of nice floral coffee notes with some light chili notes. Taste is a mix of roasted malt, black chocolate nice floral coffee notes with some lightly spicy chili notes and faint cinnamon notes. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Enjoyable mix of flavours but I was expecting a bit more cinnamon notes to come though.
