Canned 2026/03/19, so what is a "West Coast style Hazy IPA", it's West Coast style or Hazy, not both...
Pours a fizzy bubbly 1 finger head with fair retention, no lacing, hazy fairly cloudy pale color
Nose lots of citrus, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, a little spicy green hop, mild stone fruit and maybe even cantaloupe, hint of malt
Taste brings more citrus up front, orange, mango, tangerine, a bit of grapefruit pith, a bit more melon cantaloupe like, nectarine like stone fruit, fair creamy base malt, a bit juicy, finishes with a bit of green hop, but also spicy bitterness,
Mouth is med bod, med carb, a bit creamy juicy but not much
Overall meh, I guess it's hazy IPA up front, west coast bitter finish I guess, but misses the best points of both somehow, those styles don't really go together and I can see them clashing here

Hazy and West Coast seems like such an oxymoron in the same glass, but Dieu du Ciel pulls off the polarizing dichotomy in a beer that exhibits hop's fruity and bitter side at the same time.
Pouring a very common hazy golden color, Dent de Requin builds an equally similar white cap of foam. As the aromas build, the senses are drawn to its citrusy, tropical and herbal perfume in a very citronella way. Sweetness gravitates toward the tongue with notions of cereal, honeysuckle and wafer before the hops kick in again.
The middle palate invites a billowing hop flavor with the lead of citrusy tangerine, white grapefruit and a pep of lime. With hints of passionfruit, pineapple and papaya growing in taste, the sweetness fades and the ale trends bitter. A late taste of bitter resins bring a sensation of pine, hemp, citrus peel and an overall peppery bitterness to close.
Medium bodied and chasing a flavor profile form juicy and floral to bitter and drying, the beer takes the palate on quite a ride. Reminisce of the beginning of hazy ale where the beers had a firm but smooth bitterness and a sense of dryness, Dent de Requin is a pleasant throwback to when hazy still tasted like IPA.

Poured from the 16 oz can, dated 2023/04/24 into the test glass.
A - Hazy lemon yellow sun color, steady white cap, with excellent lacingthrought the experience.
S - Dried pineapple, papaya, resinuous pine, orange reduction, and sweet malts.
T - Taste leans toward the resinous pine, and dried pinapple, a bit of sulphur, as well
M - Medium in body, has some edges that work well with the bitterness. There is in the middle a soft texture, that is ushered aside, ending with a nice citrusy snap.
O - A very good IPA from talented brewers. Billed as a "West Coast style hazy IPA" whatever that means. The bitterness is certainly leaning in the direction, however the soft texture steers away from that coast.
In any event a very easy to drink pleasure, and that is the most important part!

From a 473ml can, dated 2022-11-17. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a cloudy orange-gold with a scant finger of soapy suds. The head stands up for maybe a minute, settling into a fizzy cap and a rousable sheet of slippery bubbly lacing.
Nose is sharp, grainy, leafy, citrusy. Aroma of orange, lemon, tree leaf.
Taste is sharply bitter and harshly grainy. Tasting macerated bitter tree leaf, orange slice, grapefruit pith, lemon, pine, soda cracker. Sweet orange slice and resin dominate the finish.
Feel is clean, resinous, medium bodied and brightly carbonated. If DDC weren’t billing this as ‘west coast,’ I might have said it was juicy.
Overall, tasty stuff and pretty much convincing as ‘west coast hazy IPA’ which who knew that was a thing? Nice bitterness for sure and a I guess? mostly west coast flavour profile give or take some sweet, juicy citrus.

Can: Poured a slightly hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral hops undertones of citrusy notes with some juicy notes. Taste is a great mix between juicy hops notes with some citrusy floral undertones and light bitter notes in the aftertaste. Body is full with good cabrontion. Solid NEIPA with some light bitterness.
