Near black with three fingers of dark mocha foam head. Slow, uneven dissipation and thick lacing.
Chocolate and coffee in the nose with woody cinnamon, toffee and distant berry notes.
Kiss of sweetness up front in the taste, but more like sugared coffee than chocolate — although there are still chocolate, wood, cinnamon and distant fruit notes throughout. It has a sharply bitter coffee aftertaste, but a bit more soft and rounded than the OG. Quite lovely.
Full, silky mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation.
A nice spin on the original Péché that lets the coffee do its thing. I’m drinking it well within the best-by date, but suspect it still would have been better fresher. There is a little staleness creeping in.

Tons of clean coffee notes on the nose, along with red grape, chocolate, cream, walnut, and toffee.
Flavor follows. It's rich, roasty, and dark, but clean and easy to drink. Mild sweetness; lovely coffee roast that isn't quite over the top. Strongly nutty, and mildly fruity.
I'm not sure this is an improvement on the OG Peche Mortel, but it's right around the same - which is to say, excellent!

Not quite as good as regular Pesche but still a very nice beer. The feta taste of this held me back a little from rating it higher. Glad I had it unlikely I would get another one.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours jet black with a light layer of light brown head. The nose is coffee, roasted malts, a bit of brown sugar, charred wood, and burnt toffee. The taste is lovely. Tons of coffee and bitter roasted malts. A bit of vanilla and dark chocolate come through, but this is a hefty stout with tons of those classic roasted malts. The coffee plays a role, but doesn't take over. Mouthfeel is creamy with a bitter aftertaste. Overall, a really fun variant on a great beer.

Beige head which settles to rim bubbles. No lacing. Near black color with no light passing.
This is a sweeter stout to the nose. It almost smells like a barley wine.
Boozy and sweet, this could definitely be a barley wine. Very rich body with a minimal amount of carbonation. The coffee elements are present throughout but the finish features raisins and light bittering hop. Complex.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a one finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coffee, cocoa, a touch of vanilla; a bit boozy. Taste is dark toasted malt, quality coffee, bakers chocolate, light vanilla and mild fruitiness. Strong coffee finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite coffee forward stout, more so than my recollection of the base stout, although that was very long ago. The malt is slightly thin for a big stout, particularly one with coffee, but that is made up for by the very genuine flavor of Guatemalan coffee with clear fruit notes typical of that region's beans. Possibly one of the few coffee stouts I've had where I could guess the coffee origin. I'm so glad Dieu du Ciel is back in our market after many years hiatus. They were one of my early introductions to several beer styles, including coffee stouts. I'm glad to see that this lives up to my positive memories. Nicely done and welcome.

Good coffee bitterness and aroma. Somewhat more roasty character than i would prefer at first and turns out to be a very good drinker, Peche Day takes to enjoy.
