A collaboration between Dieu du Ciel and Hill Farmstead brewed with orange juice and zest and served during the Dieu du Ciel collaboration party during Mondial week.

Cloudy light orange color with a fine white creamy head. Good retention and lacing.

Light aroma of orange is quite reserved compared to a big citrus flavor. The combination of citrusy hops, orange juice, and bitter rind is quite prominent in the flavor with both the fruit and hop components individually prominent, but working together to produce a harmonious and huge citrus character. Juicy with a dry finish.

Medium bodied and mouthcoating with the acidity and carbonation cleansing the palate, inviting another taste.

Definitely IPA-like with a prominent fruity hop character on a sturdy malt backbone. But the bright acidity makes me think more of a Berliner Weisse. One of the best collaboration beers I can remember, and a fully successful inclusion of citrus fruit in a hoppy ale.

On draught at WVRST for the DDC party. Into a tulip.

Pale yellow with some orange hues, white head with good lacing but only a bit of retention. Nose is super citrus-y, tons of zest, lemon, orange, tangerine and the like. Light malt sweetness but all citrus, all day. Brilliant hop profile. Taste has just as much citrus character, light maltiness. Gently bitter and tons of fruit all around. A bit drying, with some residual lemon/lime zest. Good carbonation - an excellent, super zesty IPA.

Hazy bright blonde colour, one finger of white head, good amount of lace left behind. Smell is very hoppy, tons of citrus fruit, orange and pineapple being the easiest to pick out, light buttered bread scents that suggest a bit of malt in the mix behind all those hops and citrus. Taste is an assault of citrus fruit, pineapple, orange, grapefruit all showing up here, a bit of malt breaks through mid palate, quite bitter throughout but never crosses the line and becomes a palate shredder. The mouthfeel is soft and lightly creamy, lightly carbonated and very oily, someone I spoke to compared it to liquid velvet and thats pretty bang on. This was pretty outstanding I must say, if BA Peche wasn't consumed the same evening this would have clearly been the beer of the night.
