5oz sample at DDC tap takeover at National Beer Hall 24/11/12 from notes
A hazy dark amber with just a few bubbles but a nice glow, not much for foam or lace
S quite woody with some pear and raspberry cider and mellow funk, not overly complex but pretty solid
T more earthy notes and the wet wood is strong, not as much cider and the funks mellowed out a bit, the fruity funk mixes well with woody notes
M a little sour with just a little grit and much more carbonation then what was visible, the fruity earthy notes linger on the finish
O pretty solid brew, sour without being sour, funky without being funked, a pretty mellow brew that's interesting to say the least
I didn't know what to expect because I had no idea what several of the brews were supposed to be and my french is lacking so translating wasn't happening. I like barrel ages sour surprises, not the best surprise of the evening but a pretty solid brew
