This beer was created on April 8th, 2000. It is composed of eight varieties of cereals and two varieties of hops. This beer has nothing to do with black industrial beers! Dare to try it!

Serving: On tap

Pours black with one finger of beige head that rapidly becomes a ring leaving some nice lacing.
Aroma is of nutty malts, coffee grounds and roast grain. The flavor is mostly coffee, dark chocolate and roast with some mineral character. It is a little thin with moderate carbonation and a roasty bite at the finish. This one is pretty good but nothing to write home about. Solid but not spectacular.

Good for a dry stout, in taste as well as drinkability. On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown, chocolate malt that tasted somewhat molk chocolate bar and a little coffee helped drinkability, without too much bitterness. Lacey, posted at brewpub as an oatmeal stout.

On tap at Bedondaine & Bedons Ronds today during the Journée québécoise de la bière.

Appearance: Black body with a thin layer of tan foam that clings to the side of the glass.

Smell: Grains, oatmeal of course. Also, some chocolate & coffee. Very pleasing.

Taste: Oatmeal with a medium bitterness and a nice roasted aftertaste. Charcoal comes to mind but not harsh at all. More of a mild coarseness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, smooth, smooth. But other than that, the body feels a little thin. It felt good on the palate but lacked complexity just a little.

Drinkability: No complaints here. Got to the end of my glass pretty quickly.

Overall: A good, serviceable stout with a good taste. I liked it and wouldn't hesitate to try it again.
