listed at 7% abv on the menu there, not 6, but nevermind that. the pour is bright red, really put my in the holiday mood. its mostly clear and has a nice faint fireside glow to it and a snowy white lacey head of more than an inch. the nose shows allspice and red malt, both heavily dosed. also quite a bit of booze, which makes me think 7% rather than 6 again. the flavor is spiced to death as i thought it might be after a whiff. there is a dried red fruits flavor to this that provides a little sweetness and a cool burst of holiday cheer. could be cranberries or cherries, either way it is outstanding. feel is a little heavy, even for a winter beer, i thought a little more carbonation could have really made this a world class beer. it just needed a little more kick in the mouth. something different for the holidays, i always appreciate that.

On tap at L'amerie a boire, Montreal.

Poured a medium amber hue with a one finger frothy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured sweet malts, some honey and a utilitarian hop.

The taste consisted of a combination of sweet malts and a modest flowery hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style and chewy.

Overall an average malty red ale. Easy enough to drink.
