Appearance: Cloudy peach lemonade with a crown of lace.

Smell: I couldn't put my finger on it at first, it was something that brought me back memories of childhood but it eluded me until my pint was half gone and then after multiple swirls and smells, I found it. Remember Big League Chew, that shredded bubblegum that came in big aluminum/plastic pouches? I used to love that gum! I've rarely came across a wit with a aroma like this. Banana esters and citrus were only an afterthought. Be sure to insist on a pint served without lime, my friends who didn't could not detect anything but lime.

Taste: Gumball yeasty, some wheat, decent malt body and ground coriander aftertaste.

Standard wheat beer appearance - slightly hazy, light gold in color and full, white head. Aroma was faintly citrusy. Light wheat flavor with citrus and banana esters apparent, but not spicy. Somewhat bland flavor but clean. Would be refreshing in summer on a really hot day, with a slice of lemon.

on tap: Hazy yellow body with a one inch white head, decent lasting. Aroma is wheaty, coriander, orange, sweet citrus. Palate is slightly creamy, light and easy going, lightly tart with a definite banana wheat taste reminiscent of an extremely light weizenbock, rather grainy. Okay example of the style

A very good blanche, or white, beer. This was served to me with a cloudy white colour with a fluffy white head. The aroams were of coriander, yeast and spices. The taste was more of the same. The mouthfeel was quite full and creamy and the drinkability was very good as well.

Nothing amazing, but a standard Quebecois version of the Belgian Wit beer style.

Cheers!

Typical Montreal version of the style. Employs Hallertau hops though, is light and refreshing, and is served with a huge fluffy white head of foam.
