Note: My can read 6.5% not 5%.

L: A pale orange in the glass. Rather cloudy, with one finger of white head. Lacing was pretty good, as was retention.

S: The classic IPA smell. Grapefruit, citrus, small amounts of pine.

T: Everything that came through on the palate works its way onto the palate. The hops are a bit floral. Citrusy, a bit piney... this is a classic IPA. Malt comes through to provide sweetness but is not cloying at all. A bit of caramel comes though to tie the grapefruit, orange flavours of the hops together.

F: Moderately thick body. I would imagine the hops are helping with the body of the beer. A bit oily but great drinking.

O: I someone was to ask me "what does an IPA taste like?" this is the beer I would give them. It's not other worldly but it highlight so many of the elements I feel make up the classic idea of an IPA. I would happily buy this again in a six pack if possible. Love that it's in cans too.

Can: Poured a golden/amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit notes are quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by citrus and grapefruit notes with some light dry caramel malt notes. Bitterness is kept at a lower level and flora notes are quite enjoyable. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. I had kind of low expectation but this one was quite enjoyable.

Best Before 19 Mar 15.

A - Nice blonde/golden colour with a bright body and some good carbonation. Thick off-white head of 2 fingers on top with big bubbles. Good lace spots and great retention with a full finger.

S - Quite mild notes with grassy, grapefruit, melon, and lemon coming through.

T - Grapefruit pith, a bit pissy, boozy pineapple core. A bit of a different beast with the flavour.

M - A bit of an off note in the finish with good bitterness, good body and strong carbonation.

O/D - A bit of a rough take on the style. Weak finish with some contrasting hop characteristics. Wouldn't revisit.

Smell of malt and hops.
Soil and floral taste. Good presence of hops with aroma of whole grain bread. Medium and floral bitterness.
Drinkable all-day ipa but there's a lack of flavors. Maybe an aromatic hop could change that.
