A big thanks goes out to Matt for tossing one of these in my bag the other day. Thanks, dude! Batch 6002 glows copper while being poured and after filling the stein looks more like an unfiltered apple cider. When backlit that copper hue still shines. The foam is dirty white, near beige, and takes the form of a dollop of whipped cream. The staying power is immense lasting throughout the entire drink. It's actually one of the longer lasting heads I remember seeing in a while. Impressive!
Toasty grains pop immediately, making my mouth water. A touch of herbal greenness flashes through briefly and again on the far backend. A drizzle of caramel and brown bread adds a touch of sweetness while the majority of the hop profile leans toward the spicy side of the spectrum. So far, so good. Smells inviting and shows good depth.
Again, toasty grains lead the way with an even handed caramel drizzle adding just a touch of sweet, The hoppy bitterness runs from front to back with herbals upfront before segueing into a spicy finish, mostly pepper and grass. As it warms the grass on the finish becomes dominant. The hoppy middle and finish really plays well with the softly sweet start. Excellent!
The body weighs in at the middle of the spectrum with a velvety feel. Bitterness runs throughout but only reaches just shy of moderate. There's just enough effervescence to keep things moving while remaining soft on the palate. Drinkability you say? Does this come in 12-packs? It should.
It's unfortunate that batch 6002 isn't in Goose's lineup. In all honesty it's one of the better alts I have ever come across and would scoop it up often if available.There's a nice malt backbone with a fairly assertive bitterness that makes this guy the bee's knees. More please. Thanks, Matchew!

Intended to be Batch 6000, but it wound up as 6002 due to a brewing schedule snafu.
Pours a dark reddish copper brown with a fluffy head of tan foam. The glass is full of sticky lace, and there's good surface coverage for the duration.
Husky grains, toasted kernels of malted barley, a light roast impression.
Taste has a hint of malt sweetness, but a more dominant firm grassy bitterness from the noble hop addition. Nutty and smooth, subtle bitter greens linger into the dry bitter aftertaste. Medium body with a creamy texture. Very easy to put back three of these at a time. Thanks Dave!
