By the time my five ounce sample of Ceres Wheat arrives at the table there is almost no head. With its yellowish wheat color and slightly yeasty haze it has the appearance of urine. There's almost no smell, but what is there is citrusy and sweet.
I take a taste and wish the urine association had ended with the appearance. This is pretty lousy stuff. It has a thin body that's not remotely chewy or bready as any wheat beer should be. It's actually closer to a wit, but if it were a wit it would still be lousy. The taste is flat, thin, and utterly unremarkable. It's something like drinking watered-down cheap white wine. I can think of only one positive thing to say: By the time I call a halt to the affair after drinking three ounces there are nice splattery garlands of lacing on the glass.
This beer was far less worthy of its style than were the others I had at Goose Island, so it makes me wonder if I had a bad glass. If anyone else would care to risk a sample, I'd be curious to read more reviews.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
