on cask at the Clybourn Brewpub. pours a rich golden color with a single finger of solid white head. takes a bit to settle out, and has solid lacings and good retention.
aroma is lightly floral with notes of fruit along with a base of bready malt. nicely composed, with a curious mix of floral and fruity notes.
taste is more of the same with a nice fruit note in the background. goes down super smooth with only a bit of residual fruit. nicely done on the palate.
mouthfeel is light bodied and ultra smooth with a finish that is silky smooth. the flavors do not lend themselves to a smooth and silky profile, and that is the only downfall of the brew, but in the end it still works quite well.
drinkability is great. the combination of floral and fruit notes and the smothness from the hand-pumped cask make this a solid cask brew, and a solid brew overall. subtle, yet mildly assertive in the notes it does have, this is a great starter brew from GI Clybourn. cheers!

Imperial pint poured at the Wrigley Field brewpub Tuesday, the 16th of May, 2006.
Unfiltered pils color, dark sunshine gold the color of a daisy's center. Nice, retentive white head.
Smells like rough grains with a hint of soap. Nicely sweet, but for some reason I'm afraid that it'll make me sneeze.
Tastes great, very crisp. Dandelions, grain. Very rough and raw. There's a sweet finish, like wild flowers and mild fruit.
Too bad they didn't serve this at the game! It's a great session brew: crisp, flavorful, and refreshing.

Pivo is back. I had this one at the Wrigley location. The beer is served in a large 20 oz mug. It is a standard golden with smallish white head good lacing.
Nice nose of spice, citrus and fresh hay.
Taste is slightly biter, a bit sweet with a touch of caramel. It is crisp and balanced.
This is a very easy drinker and it is a perfect compliment to a good burger, pizza etc. Glad to see it has returned!

Served on draught in a stein at the Wrigleyville location. Reviewed from notes.
Straw yellow in color with a thin, stark white head. Light, airy pilsner with all the typical elements - some herbal hop notes, soft malt profile, and a very light hint of lemons.
Crisp and refreshing, but more complex than many summer offerings. Strongly hopped for a pilsner, to the point of being astringent - which makes it both stand out amongst its peers and more enjoyable to me.

(Served in a mug)
A- This beer has a light straw yellow color with a pure white head. There is a nice strong carbonation of tiny bubbles.
S- There is a light citrus note to the hops that becomes a strong floral German hop aroma There is a note of honey that follows that. The smell of crisp pale malt with a faint note of dryness or sulfur at the finish.
T- There is a nice green German hop flavor with a fresh pale malt flavor that is crisp. Then a slight sweetness with a honey note finished the beer. On the first few cold sips I detected a hint of ice tea but it went away as the beer warmed.
M- This beer had a medium-light mouthfeel with a nice fizz in the texture.
D- I would never have been able to tell that this was from an ale yeast and not a lager yeast. It has great crisp flavors and the slight sweet notes with some honey in the finish gave it a nice twist.

Sampled on Tap at GI Clybourne
This beer sits in my glass a lightly hazy straw color, it is topped by a thin pale head. The aroma is sharp and herbal, with hints of lightly toasted malt and grain. The taste is dry, yet full of grain. This beer is quite mellow and soft through to the finish, it has notes of herbs and is slightly astringent as well. This beer is fairly clean, yet it does have a note of lemons in the finish, which transitions to a sudden, yet not really overwhelming, bitterness. In the end this beer comes off as being a bit thin. It is nice and refreshing though.

A slightly cloudy light golden body with a nice fluffy head. Floral and spicy hop nose. Nice minty, herbal, flowery hop flavor hits like a sledghammer at first giving way to a slight pilsner, hay like malt flavor and profound bitterness in the middle, then returning to a spicy hop finish. Mouthfeel was very light giving this a tremendous drinkability factor. Reminiscent of Victory Prima Pils. Went great with some wings. Goose Island has another winner.
