Base beer is the same as Bourbon County Stout according to greeter and bartender. Aged in Pinot Noir barrels. Did not mention if it was a single barrel or a blend. Also did not mention time spent in barrel. Looks just like BCBS. Smell is dark chocolate, roasted barley, and hints of grape. The tannins from the red wine are present right out of the gate and create a drier finish. Balanced flavors and a depth of dark fruits. I miss the notes that the bourbon give to this base beer. Very interesting and delicious beer in its own right.
