Inspired by our grouchy-yet-gifted brewmaster, Old Man Grumpy is a deliciously drinkable pale ale sure to lift anyone’s spirits. Exclusive to Chicago, this lighter-bodied ale is dry hopped with Huell Melon and Mosaic hops that give the beer a tropical flavor profile of pineapple followed by pine hop characteristics. It has subtle malt sweetness, balanced bitterness with a clean finish. Cheer up. Drink Up.

Pours a nice golden orange, frothy head that leaves a nicely laced glass.
Piney, fruity with a hint of malt.
I was really surprised by this. I'd buy it again if I saw it.

Old Man Grumpy pours a dark amber color, with a small, but long lasting and lacing head. Earthy, vegetation aroma. Flavor is the same, very earthy, strange sweet vegetation, harsh aftertaste. Good feel. Overall, strong earth flavors, strange hops, don't really care fo this one.

Appearance: Pours a deep, but cloudy orange color with a white head. SRM of 11 (3.75)
Aroma: Strong aromas of dank and earthy pine, berry, mango, and completely ripened pineapple. Lots of dank berry aromas. Some grape and slight crushed red apple. (4.00)
Flavor: Flavors are more dank pine, berry, and then a lot of black tea. It's airy, but finishes with a slight berry sweetness that pushes out any bitterness. (3.75)
Feel: Lighter-bodied. Decent carbonation. It's got an airy body, but with dank pine and berry flavor. (3.75)
Overall: A pretty good pale ale. It's lighter, but has the dark dank flavors of pine and berry. This sort of washes out into an airy, black tea flavor. Nice flavor and pretty delicious. Nothing to stand out from the pack. It tastes like an airy & weaker mosaic IPA. (3.76)

Light pine and mango aroma with some light biscuit, traces of bread crust and fruit. Pours gold with a slight haze under a 2" off-white to light beige cap with good retention. A moderately bitter palate balances mango, citrus, fruit and biscuit flavors. Some pine enters on the finish with a slight astringent note. Medium body with medium low carbonation. A full flavored beer that is easy to drink.

Moderately dank, with bright green herbs, pepper, citrus, and a mild cracker malt backbone. This is a very tasty and full-flavored APA, really coming across as a borderline IPA.
