This beer is very reddish, with almost no head. Although listed here on BA as "American Wild Ale", I would call it a Flanders Red, and both the aroma and taste are spot on for that style. It's very oaky, dry, and wine-like. And tart, of course. It's very good, but not as complex as the better Flanders Reds (one of my favorite styles).

Oak aged red ale in used Bourbon County barrels on tap at Fulton.

Look- Ruby red with a brown tint and a centimeter of dirty off white foam. A smidge of lacing is left behind as it settles.

Smell- Dark ripe fruit, brett funk, vanilla and musty oak.

Taste- Tart fruit forward with grapes, cherries and berries, followed by some brett. There's an underlying caramel taste along with some vanilla. It finishes quite woody.

Feel- Light, slightly lively and tart with a crisp dry finish.

Overall- This tastes like it could be wine. A Chardonnay quality to it that makes it quite complex yet very drinkable. This is definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.
