Judging by the approved pic, I seem to have been lucky enough to have found a CANned version for The CANQuest (tm) before it was disCANtinued! I am using mine to raise a toast to a late shipmate, GMG2 (SW) Howard "CoyDog" Coyer. R.I.P., buddy.
From the CAN: "Goose Coywolf"; "Uniquely hopped Dark Ale with notes of oak[,] citrus and pine"; "Limited Release".
I Crack!ed open the vent, holding my breath since the previous two had necessitated a quick Emergency Glug due to excessive foaming. No such phenomenon in this case, so I proceeded with the standard slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This resulted in the formation of two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with decent retention. Color was Coppery-Brown (SRM = > 17, < 22) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a toastiness along with a bready, biscuity oakiness. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but light for the style. The taste was of a lightly-toasted malt along with oak & pine, especially, followed by a light grapefruit citrusiness. It reminded me a LOT of a cask ale & I wish that it had come in THAT Serving Style! The ABV was a bit high for the style, but it was the sort of thing that I CAN envision drinking whilst sitting in an English pub, if we CAN ever get back to doing such things. 8=( Finish was semi-dry and very pleasant to drink. YMMV.

Pours dark amber. Slight hop aroma. Not what I expected. Tastes like a red ale with a slight malt finish. Mild hoppiness. Good balance. Slightly above average.

Appearance: Dark brown-amber, with a nice khaki head and attractive lace.
Aroma: Woody, smoky almost…interesting.
Taste: Mild, fairly balanced maltiness and hops, but coming across as more of an amber ale in flavor but with some added oak/wood notes. Unique brew but something's missing...

Thrilled to be 5th review of Coywolf, which works well for me, not brown ale fan unless some heft, as with this.
Can.
a) Pours clear mahogany body with mid size cream tan head that laces scant and lasts a while.
s) Gotta let it warm to offer aroma, then caramel, malt, and cocoa along with earthy hops.
t) Flavor grows larger. Balanced malt and hop, with burnt caramel, toffee, rye, and lots of earthy & piney hops.
f) Full body, creamy, smooth and finishes dry. Good feel. Good food beer.
o) Nice take. up there with the best browns.
