On cask at the Clybourn Goose Island. A deep red/brown with a tan head and pretty good lacing. Nose was sweet malts and soap. Taste was mild malts, not too much going on, but not bad. Mouthfeel was a little watery but smooth, and virtually no carbonation. Drinkability is good, it's just not that exciting of a beer. Glad to see a cask-conditioned beer at Goose Island though. It's worth a try if only because of that fact.

this was described by the server at the brewpub as a "tribute" to Fat Tire...and it was on cask so thats a good reason to try it i guess. Appearance was very dark brown/red with good lacing. odor was of mildly roasted malts and charcoal, kind of smelled porter-esque. tastes dark and watery-cocoa-y. kind of roasty. not very flavorful overall. a little thin for the flavor and style...not much carbonation (well, it was on cask). unimpressive overall and im not sure why they had this beer on cask in retrospect.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a warm brown body with a opacity that only lets light in at the bottom of the glass. The head is a good creamy light tan that last for a bit. No sign of carbonation because the body is just a bit to dense.

S- The smell of light toasted malt has a hint of green hops. As it warms there is a note of pot caramel but it is a pretty light smell overall.

T- The taste of toasted malt has a sweet pot caramel/nougat flavor that finishes in a faint chocolate malt and cream taste. There is a pine hop flavor that is very faint but comes through more as it warms. The flavors are kind of off or bland and don't taste really fresh.

M- The medium-full mouthfeel has a watery texture at the beginning but gets a bit more full at the finish.

D- This taste like an ale version of a bock. The flavors are note that pleasant but just ok.
