Dark brown color. Decent, beige head. Chocolate and toasted malt in aroma. Moderately sweet with a light roasted bitterness at the end. Not a bad winter option.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear dark, dark brown pour... nearly black with 1.5 fingers of off-white head.
S: Roasted grains and milk chocolate.
T.F: Sweet roasted malts up front. Cocoa, caramel, and earthy hops for balance. Medium bodied. Easy drinking.
O: A decent American porter. A little on the sweet side... with nothing really standing out one way or another.

Nice and dark with a beautiful thick Carmel fluffy head that leaves lacing, not really a strong smell to it just a lil roast and a hint of caramel, the taste isn't as strong as a normal Porter it's actually kind of grassy and metallic

An exceptionally avoidable beer. No head after a minute, almost no body, and a flavor profile that emphasizes cardboard (soaked in rain water, maybe) over malts (roasted or otherwise). Not sure where the problem lies—a short grain bill, for sure, but even for a lower ABV porter is lacks not only depth and complexity, but what you might just call flavor. Yes. Surprised by this, and disappointed, obviously.

BOTTLE:
Toffee, chocolate cake, chocolate malts, caramalt, crystal malt, dark malts, caramel.
I find it too sweet/imbalanced. Some roastiness would really help.
Has a bit too much body and viscosity for its (lack of) depth of flavour. Not a real complex porter. Lacks subtlety.
Low C / AVERAGE

Poured from a can into a perfect.
Appearance is dark chocolate with a two finger head that recedes to a ring and leaves ample sticky lace. Dark in color, but clear.
Aroma is of molasses and charred fat. Slight bitter aroma of scorched corn starch.
Flavor is dark roasted malt and coffee on the front. The coffee and burnt malt character yield to over roasted malt and ashy dustiness with a metallic twang. Hop bitterness comes through but is smashed by sour yeast.
Mouthfeel is thin but quaffable with adequate carbonation.
Overall, a decent porter but nothing overly special. The ashy, metallic flavors kill it.

Parka Porter brewed by Goose Island Beer Co.,with an ABV of 5.30% This American Porter pours out of a 12oz glass bottle into a pint beer glass. The American Porter has a deep brown color with a nice off white almost brown color head. Parka Porter has the look of coffee, not saying that is a bad thing. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with roasted goodness mixed with sweetness. Lots of roasted grains and malts, minor on the hop bitterness. You also pick up lots of chocolate notes in the smell as well. So far Parka Porter is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You pick up on a lot of nice roasted notes from the grains and malts. The chocolate notes are a nice touch to this Porter. The body of Parka Porter is a solid medium. There is nothing overpowering about this American Porter, it has a super nice balance to it. The mouth feel is Bold, Roasted, Rich, Clean, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give Parka Porter a soild 4 out of 5. I would definitely look this American Porter up again giving the opportunity to. Goose Island Beer Co., Did a real nice job with this Porter.
