The smell is kind of weak, but the taste is juicy and delicious. I like how it balances out the yeast flavor. Overall it's pretty solid and it hides the alcohol very well.

Golden orange deep head lacing. A good looking beer
Smell is sweet and slightly fuity. Taste is very much the american tripel. Mildly fruity full of candy sugar. Not too complex. Medium thick body.
This is a decent if not great example of the style, a little too sweet but not cloying.

Sample glass at the Clybourn brewpub. Pours cloudy gold with a thinnish white head.
The aroma is distinctly Belgian-- lots of candi sugar, light banana esters, and Belgian yeast. No detectable alcohol.
Opens up with malty/candy sweetness, with fruity esters showing up mid-palate. The finish contains just a trace of alcoholic bite, some lingering sweetness, and maybe a little butterscotch diacetyl flavor as well.
Mouthfeel is thick and smooth, with little or no carbonation, and is appropriate for the style.
A little too sweet and candyish to be very drinkable, and not especially interesting either, but a tasty beer and a good style example.
