Cask at Goose Island Clybourn brewpub. The only beer tonight that isn't clear. Hazy medium gold. Aroma is on the weak side. Flavour is decent. Medium hoppiness is noticeable upfront. Not particularly wheaty. More like an IPA, though far more restrained than their own IPA.

Got this on draft from Goose Island Clybourn. Served in an Imperial Pint glass. The pour had produced a nice white two finger head that slowly disapeared to a thin lace. Beer is a strawberry blonde color, allbeit more on the blonde side. The beer smells bready with a pretty solid hop note. Taste is typical wheat flavors (bubblegum, clove etc) with a definate piney, citrusy hop twang. A medium bodied mouthfeel with good carbo. This beer is extremely drinkable. If I didn't have things to do, I could have easily knocked quite a few of them down.

This is a pretty good Gumballhead clone, which Goose doesn't even hide that much. They describe the beer as being a take on local wheat beers that have big flavor (sounds like Gumballhead to me). That said I still prefer Gumballhead but this is still pretty damn good.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a hazy golden-orange body with a bubbly off-white head that last a good long while. There is gentle carbonation of bubbles that pop out through hazy occasionally.

S- The soft smell of rising bread had a nice hint of green hops at the finish which balanced the bread as it warmed.

T- This beer has a taste of chewy bread dough with a soft bubble gum accents and a banana hint. As the beer warms the bread dough turns into more of a yeasty note. As the beer warms there is a nice hint of cloves. All of this complex wheat beer flavor is punctuated with a nice snappy hop finish with notes of pine and bitterness.

M- This beer has a creamy full mouthfeel with a light watery texture when it warms. The texture is surprisingly pleasant.

D- This beer has a nice full wheat beer flavor with some nice subtle depth and the sharp hops really finish the beer wonderfully. I'm not a big fan of wheat beer but I really like the softer complexity of the wheat and all the hops.
