Had to write some notes on this one, as it's a Goose Island sour that I'd never seen before. Sampled at the Sheffield's Beer School Bar Festival. Served in small pint glass. This was merely called "Sour Brown" on the menu, but I'm guessing it's the same beer.
A - Murky but attractive light brown/orange color, with a small tan head that leaves complex and persistent lacing. Not much visible carbonation, which is surprising for this type of brew.
S - Sour! Sour apple & cherry, cider vinegar, oak. I'm not sure I get much more out of this, as the sourness is really powerful.
T - There's a little too much of the vinegar flavor in this guy - not a good thing. However, there's a surprising hop flavor that is still in the back end of this brew. Again, sour apples and cherries, as well as some candy flavors - reminds me of Rockets.
M - Terrific! Perfect amount of carbonated tingle, and crisp, dry, and ultimately refreshing. GI has really captured the right texture for this style.
D - The tartness and sourness would definitely turn me off after a couple glasses. I'm guessing it's fairly low in ABV, which makes it easy to drink.
The name is appropriate - it's sour AND brown!. Nice attempt at a Wild Ale from Goose Island - I'm looking forward to Juliet and other attempts. We can't let California make all the good ones...

Pours a clouded ruby hued brown. No head. Nose is a lot of vinegar. Flavor is bringing loads of it too. Fair amount of cherries and wood as well. Very lactic though. If you want to learn what it tastes like to have this in a beer, this is the one to learn from. Feel has a precise biting carbonation (tiny bubbles) and the liquid is typical. For how sour this started off, this is very easy to drink.
