Big thanks to PJ for procuring a keg (the last keg?) of this brew for the June BA Gathering (on my birthday). Served in a mini-tulip glass.
A - Half inch of white foam that dissolves quickly but leaves behind solid glass-coating lacing. Hazy orange-yellow color with tons of sediment (from the dry hopping apparently).
S - This stuff smells awesome. The amarillo dry hopping infuses tons of tropical fruit flavors and mutes the Belgian yeast flavor a bit (one of my big complaints about many saisons is overly strong yeast flavor). The clausenii is used in place of "regular" brett, and the funk is quite mild but adds depth to the huge smell.
T - Taste is a little more typical saison. Lots of peach, pear, apricot, with a mild lemon aftertaste. Both funk and spice are very understated, but only serve to add some richness. Apparently this another proto-Sophie, and again I like it more than the finished product.
M - Light to medium body. Nice dry finish, mild carbonation, very crisp and refreshing. A very good example of ideal saison mouthfeel.
D - Highly drinkable stuff - no strong aftertastes, mild carbonation, refreshing, no apparent alcohol. I think we could use more hopped up saisons - it's a shame this was a one-off. Oh well, at least there is CynicAle...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
