One of the three "Easter Egg" variants - released in Chicagoland only.
This version of Bourbon County Brand Stout is a blend of only Heaven Hill barrel aged Bourbon County Brand Stout. Although the bottles are the same as the regular Bourbon County Brand Stout you can tell if it is an "easter egg" bottle by checking the back of the label near the date code. The Heaven Hill "easter egg" bottle code ends in HH.

Aged 1 year. Had 2020 regular and the 3 easter egg variants together, here are our notes. Classic bcbs appearance. Smells strongly of dark fruits, semi-sweet chocolate, and vanilla with supporting caramel and bourbon. Taste has the same five but more equally melded together, oak is toasty and faint. Feel is warm yet decently lush, the smoothest of the 3 by a good bit. Best of the Easter eggs in my humble opinion, but again like the others just have the original, it is a timeless masterpiece for a reason.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This one smells like dark chocolate, oak char, smoke, milk chocolate, caramel, leather, vanilla, and toasted marshmallow.
This is very close in quality to the Buffalo Trace, maybe a slight step down overall. It's got a bit more of that big barrel character I love in regular BCBS and the Buffalo Trace version, with a spicy oak hit, bourbon, leather, caramel, bourbon, etc. There's dark chocolate.
This is a bit boozier than either variant was, but it's still big thick and fudgy on the palate, which I love. It's a slow sipper.
I really, really enjoyed trying all of these Easter Eggs back to back. I hope Goose Island considers doing neat little things like this again in the future.

Bottled 9/27/20; drank 12/1/20.
Black appearance.
An even pour yielded a small tan head; no lace.
Milk chocolate, oak, bourbon heat & faint vanilla notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Milk chocolate & bourbon heat flavors up front; oak, caramel & mild vanilla notes on the finish. As this warmed, the booze heat became dominant.
Maybe some age will calm this, but while there's good flavors here, it's too boozy fresh. Good, not great.
