Goose Island Brewhouse "Bad(ass) Things Happen In Philadelphia"
Look: Lightly hazy deep golden body beneath a full head of white foam. Better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Not overly bright but mainly hoppy. Piney and mildly fruity over a basic malt.
Taste: The flavor displays a balanced combination of tropical fruits, pine, and bready malt. It's citrusy but not with any particularly clear fruit standing out, although grapefruit, lemon, and orange are suggested. Firmly bitter with a dry finish. Pine lingers gently. Nicely balanced.
Feel: Medium to medium-light in body and crisp with a standard, fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: A pretty solid, if somewhat basic American pale ale. Oddly, this is listed as a hazy pale but it's really not. It appears unfiltered, yes, but it's clearer than a witbier and doesn't have the mouthfeel of a hazy beer.
