Be Mine Chocolate Stout was a one off beer brewed for Valentine's day. It was aged on apricots and cocoa nibs.
This beer was served off the hand pump into a snifter.
Be Mine is a black with chestnut brown edges and half a a finger of creamy khaki head that fades to nothing fast.
The nose is roasty chocolate, dark grains, apricots, coffee, and some mild alcohol.
The taste follows with layers of subtle dark chocolate and roasted malts, som coffee, low alcohol, slight oxidization. The apricots come out in the finish and are quite interesting, but they sort of clash with the alcohol.
The mouthfeel is slick and full with a low level of carbonation.
More of a one and done beer, but interesting either way. I'm glad I had the chance to try this.
