Part of the Crop To Cup series of coffee stouts. This one was aged on coffee beans and vanilla beans.
This beer was jet black in it's snifter with a thin off white collar.
The nose is heavy on the espresso, it's very rich. There is some mellow vanilla coming through as well. It's hard to pick out anything else.
The taste follows the nose. Iced espresso with vanilla, and not much else. It's delicious, but very one sided. One of the most coffee-heavy beers I've had to date. I really wish it had more body and more malt to keep it a little balanced though.
Mouthfeel is medium to low bodied with a low level of carbonation.
Major coffee bomb that would've been an A+ with some more body and balance, tasty still and I was happy to try it. Goose Island Clybourn is awesome.
